Chelsea have launched a new push to sign Benfica wing star Angel di Maria. The Sunday Mirror says the Blues dispatched Peter Kenyon to Lisbon last week to increase the chances of signing the player.
Although former chief executive Kenyon is no longer employed by Chelsea, they still use him for some special missions, and he is still close to the player's agent Jorge Mendes.
Chelsea have been following Argentine international Di Maria, 22, since he signed for Benfica in 2007.
He has since been quoted as saying: "I'll stay a year and then go to Chelsea."
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to go as high as £36 million for Di Maria in the summer.
