Chelsea bring back Flo to join academy staff

Former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo has returned to the London giants.

The Daily Mail says Flo has returned to Chelsea as an academy coach.

The former striker was signed from Brann in native Norway by then-Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit for £300,000 in 1997, and went on to score 50 goals for the club before a £12million move to Rangers.

And now Flo, who won 76 caps for Norway, has returned to the club where he made his name in a coaching capacity, and will be helping to develop the club's younger players.

The club's U21 team manager Dermot Drummy revealed in further detail about Flo's new role.

He said: "He is going to be assisting a coach at a lower level, and help us in the U21s in the afternoons. For example, we have been trying to turn Islam Feruz into a No 9 striker, and he can lend his experience to that.

"That's without discriminating against him as just a striker coach, he can help in every aspect."
