Kurt Zouma made his first senior appearance for Chelsea in almost a year on Sunday.
The 22-year-old centre-half played a full 90 minutes for the Blues in the 4-1 FA Cup third-round win over Peterborough United which was his return to the first-team having sustained a serious knee injury in February 2016, delighting manager Antonio Conte.
"Zouma came back after 11 months and played 90 minutes, which is fantastic for him, his family and the club," said Conte.
The Italian manager also gave opportunities to some other youngsters as the West London club moved into the fourth round of the famous cup competition thanks to goals from Pedro (brace), Willian and Michy Batshuayi.
"The young players – (Nathaniel) Chalobah, Ruben (Loftus-Cheek) and (Ola) Aina - showed me they are growing," he added.
"Michy played a good game and scored a goal, so there were a lot of positives."
