Chelsea boss Villas-Boas: Players know I'm in charge

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas says he makes it clear whose in charge.

While the Portuguese, who has just celebrated just his second anniversary as a manager, believes creative tension can bring about positive conclusions for teams, he vowed that nothing will be allowed to happen under his reign unless he is a first-hand observer.

Villas-Boas said: "I don't believe in arguing and revolting to find a way of going forward. I think the common cause is present in any team is its objectives, in titles and success.

"Regarding the way that people take their leadership style, I'm not that kind of person. That's not to say that style doesn't get results, because it has in the past, but I don't believe in that. It's just a different style.

"I think we are all part of a team. We will get together when we have to, when we have something to say to each other.

"The players are the decisive part of the game so their voices must always be heard in a group situation but with the leaders and the technical staff present, because it's always a sharing of common ideas, in my opinion."
