Chelsea boss Villas-Boas plans to gamble with Terry selection for Napoli

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas plans to play John Terry at Champions League opponents Napoli.

The Daily Mail says Villas-Boas is ready to take a fitness gamble on Terry in Tuesday's make-or-break clash in Naples.

Defeat against Napoli in the Champions League could signal the end of the Chelsea manager’s short reign at Stamford Bridge.

So the Portuguese is preparing to risk his captain in the round-of-16 first-leg match as he battles to save his job.

Terry made a return to training last Monday after three weeks out with a knee injury but missed Saturday’s 1-1 FA Cup draw against Birmingham.

He is rated as ‘very doubtful’ for the vital game in the Stadio San Paolo, but under-fire Villas Boas will give his key defender every chance to prove his fitness.
