Chelsea boss Villas-Boas must beat Real Madrid coach Mourinho for Neymar

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is going head-to-head with Real Madrid's Joe Mourinho for Neymar.

The Telegraph says the 19 year-old Brazil forward is a long-standing Chelsea target and, while Santos claimed on Tuesday that five European clubs had agreed to pay his release clause, the major challenge is expected from Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.

It means that Villas-Boas faces the prospect of going head-to-head with his former mentor.

Chelsea came close to signing Neymar last year, but he was eventually persuaded to sign a new contract at Santos until 2014 that includes a £40 million release clause.
