Chelsea are weighing up a move for Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles.
The Daily Mail says Liverpool are willing to sell Meireles to help offset their £100m summer spending spree and anticipated selling the Portuguese abroad.
However, Andre Villas-Boas knows him well from their time at Porto and is interested to see if a deal could be done. Liverpool want close to £12m for the 28-year-old who was voted the PFA Fans Player of the Year.
Villas-Boas wants more creativity from his midfield and sees Meireles as an ideal foil for main target Tottenham's Luka Modric.
