Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas insists there's no reason to rush his transfer plans.
Villas-Boas arrived from Porto last month to replace Carlo Ancelotti but the club have yet to confirm his first signing.
The deals closest to completion concern promising teenagers - Thibaut Courtois, Oriol Romeu and Romelu Lukaku - who are unlikely to make an instant impact on the first team. Goalkeeper Courtois, 19, will spend the season on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Villas-Boas said: "It's normal that there is an expectancy at any club moving into the summer that they will go into the market but we are approaching it in a more wise way, selecting our decisions.
"The market closes on August 31 and the most important thing for us is to make wise decisions and do what's best for the club. This doesn't mean we won't move in the market. I think we will. There's still plenty of time."
