Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is unhappy Didier Drogba has been charged with improper conduct over his coin throwing incident against Burnley.

Drogba was clearly shown on television throwing something at Burnley fans after scoring in Wednesday night's Carling Cup tie - which Chelsea went on to lose in a penalty shoot-out.

He was charged by the FA while police are still investigating the incident. Drogba is expected to receive a three-match ban.

However, Scolari has defended his striker by pinning responsibility on those fans who first threw objects on to the pitch.

"Didier went on the pitch to play football," Scolari said. "He didn't go out there with coins in his pockets. It wasn't Didier who started it.

"He was happy to have scored a goal and he wasn't starting anything. He hadn't gone out there to fight but to play. The police, the FA, have to think about this.

"Didier apologised after the game but now I want the police to find out who was the man who threw that [coin]. After this we'll look at what happens. I'm not a judge."
