Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is rowing with his Portugal successor Carlos Queiroz.
The former Manchester United No2 has made a faltering start since taking over from Scolari and saw his team thrashed 6-2 by Brazil in midweek.
He was hoping for some advice from the Brazilian, but revealed: "I expected to have a conversation with Scolari. It was a necessity for the position that I now occupy. I tried to contact him but have found it impossible.
"It's probable he doesn't want to talk to me, so I've looked at other solutions."
Asked if he was struggling to match up to Big Phil's success, Queiroz admitted: "I am not uncomfortable with the comparisons. Everyone is different.
"It is too early to make an analysis and I'm focused on our objective which is qualification for the 2010 World Cup.
"I'm convinced we can achieve it, even if Scolari and I do not talk."
