Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari accepts he cannot spend in the January market.
The Mirror says Scolari will not spend a penny more of Roman Abramovich's fortune until the summer - despite bringing in £12million by selling Wayne Bridge to Manchester City.
The Chelsea hierarchy and Scolari have agreed no signings will be made unless there is a new and serious long-term injury to a senior player.
Scolari, who met chief executive Peter Kenyon at the club's Cobham training HQ yesterday, accepts it is his job to turn results around with the players he has at his disposal.
