Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has identified Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek as his top January market target.

The Sunday Express says Sarri has made Piatek his number one target to fix his misfiring attack when the transfer window opens for business in the New Year.

The 23 year-old who would cost £40million has nine goals in the seven games that he has started for Genoa in Serie A this season.

Alvaro Morata has struggled to find the back of the net since arriving in London and Sarri believes that Piatek, 23, is the man to get the goals he needs.

Napoli are keen on Piatek along with Juventus while Roma, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have also had him scouted.

Piatek who only signed for Genoa in the summer but has established himself as one of the hottest strikers in Europe this season.
