Chelsea will bring back Thibaut Courtois from Atletico Madrid next season. The Sunday Mirror says Courtois has made it clear that he relishes regular first-team football and is reluctant to come back to Chelsea as the deputy to Petr Cech.

Courtois has helped Atletico into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Barcelona.

But Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will insist that the player, who is 22 in May, comes back to Chelsea as the long-term successor to Cech.

And Courtois will be rewarded with a new, five-year contract.

Courtois has two years left on his present deal and Chelsea will start talks about a three-year extension this summer.
