Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has thrown down the gauntlet to Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Mourinho says there is "no chance" of the 19 year-old leaving temporarily.
He said: "Ruben is one of the young players getting opportunities.
"He is a very talented player, no doubts about it. With ups and downs in his evolution.
"(But he is) having the chances that not many players at his age get in big clubs, because it's easier to get chances in smaller clubs.
“Sometimes young players can argue right or wrong that the chances were not too many for them. Ruben is the last one who can complain about that. So everything is in his hands.
“Ruben is in a situation where he came to the first team very young last season and played last season in the Premier League and the Champions League, he stayed in the first-team squad this season again, and goes to the national team (U21s) and my assistant at Chelsea (Steve Holland) is the assistant in the national team, so we know everything about him, every second.
"Even when he goes to the national team we know how he trains, what he does, the way he plays, everything. So Ruben is having everything.
“And sooner or later, he – him, him not me – has to give one step forward to be more stable in the first team. But of course he is a player who we have lots of hope for."
