Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists Romelu Lukaku will get back to his best for Everton.

Lukaku is set to play at Chelsea for the first time since his £28m permanent transfer to Everton last summer.

Speaking about his return to the club, Mourinho said: "No, he doesn't have a point to prove. I think he proves every weekend that he's a good player.

"Nobody has doubts at Chelsea that he's a good player. He has nothing to prove to us. He is a difficult opponent. You have to know that. We know that better than anyone.

"We know (Andre) Schurrle is a good player. (Kevin) De Bruyne is a good player. (Juan) Mata is a good player (other players that have been sold under Mourinho). But that's football, that's life, that's the market.

"The players' wishes sometimes to be in clubs where they become clearly the first options. That's football, that's life."
