Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reviving his interest in AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi.
De Rossi came close to joining Chelsea in the summer before committing to new terms.
The Sun says De Rossi is back on Mourinho's agenda as he seeks a long-term replacement for veteran Frank Lampard.
The Blues manager wants to find a new midfield general and has De Rossi and Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso on his shopping list.
