Chelsea boss Mourinho: I never sought to insult Ronaldo

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho denies he sought to insult Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this week. In the lead up to this morning's 3-1 defeat in Miami, Mourinho described former Real striker Ronaldo, in an apparent swipe at the current No7, as a 'the real Ronaldo'.

But in the post-match today, Mourinho insisted: "It's not my style. I said he was the real Ronaldo because he was the first. If you ask me who the real Muller was, whether Thomas Muller and Gerd Muller, I say the latter.

"For me he is the first because he is the oldest.

"It's something created in Madrid because that is his city."

Mourinho was a little shorter when it came to Marcelo's outburst aimed towards the Chelsea bench.

"You see things I see," said Mourinho. "I came here to discuss the game and my team..."
