Chelsea boss Mourinho fancies rumbling Man Utd Toni Kroos plans

Manchester United face competition from Chelsea for Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos. The London Evening Standard says it has been reported in Germany that Chelsea are ready to compete with United for the signing of Kroos.

The Germany international has yet to agree a new deal with the Champions League holders and is out of contract in 2015.

He remarked: "I am unable to rule anything out. Actually there are yet no further talks [regarding a new contract] scheduled. There are worse situations in life. I play for a top club and under a top coach. Sometime in the future a decision will be made."

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is expected to make more changes to his squad and will be on the look-out for another midfielder having allowed Michael Essien to join AC Milan, while Frank Lampard may not be offered a new deal.
