Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski for the January transfer window.

The Mail on Sunday says he is angry that the club's vast network of scouts and analysts failed to come up with any late alternatives, once it became clear that Manchester United were refusing to let Wayne Rooney leave during the summer.

Borussia Dortmund's Poland striker Lewandowski is out of contract at the end of the season and would be an option if the German club are eliminated early from the Champions League.
