Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits he tried to buy Frank Lampard while in charge of Inter Milan.

Despite his ties with the Stamford Bridge club, Lamps did think long and hard before deciding to stay in London.

Mourinho said: "It was close, very, very close. When he eventually turned me down I told him he had made the right decision."
