Chelsea boss Avram Grant has slammed British government minister Gerry Sutcliffe for describing John Terry's wages as "obscene".
Grant reckons JT could easily swap his No 26 shirt for No 10.
And he told Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe to butt out over his claim that Terry's £135,000-a-week wages are "obscene".
Grant believes Terry held the squad together during tough times when Jose Mourinho left Chelsea.
The Blues chief added: "Terry deserves the money. He did a lot for this club during a very difficult time.
"Mr Sutcliffe did not choose the right person, he did not choose the right issue.
"The Government's job is to take care of those people who do not have any money and the weakest. And if they need my help I will help them."
Grant believes footballers are an easy target for politicians.
He said: "I don't know why he speaks about players and not about singers or tennis players.
"They are a lot bigger earners than footballers."
