Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The Mirror says Chelsea boss Avram Grant has stepped up his interest in Ajax's £25million-rated striker Huntelaar - but will face competition from Real Madrid.

Huntelaar, is the top scorer in the Dutch league and has 69 goals in 86 games for Ajax. He is being lined up by Grant as a summer replacement for Didier Drogba.

Chelsea are set to splash out on strikers as Drogba - increasingly frustrated following the departure of Jose Mourinho - is likely to leave at the end of the season.
