Chelsea boss Avram Grant believes Nicolas Anelka can fire them to the Premiership title.

"We hope Anelka will get the goals that will take us to the title," said Grant. "I believe in him.

"He wants to prove himself. He is a good player, very quick, he's got good technique and he knows how to score goals and make them.

"Before he came we had to use Claudio Pizarro and others.

"You need more than two top strikers at a top club - you cannot go a season with two strikers. When Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko were injured at the start of the season it was difficult."
