Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo has played down concerns over his midfield's defensive capabilities.
Di Matteo accepts Reading tested them on Wednesday night.
"It is going to be paramount to keep a good balance in our team," said Di Matteo.
"It is all great that everybody wants to see a lot of flair play and attacking play but to win games you need to have a good balance and that's going to be a challenge.
"I would like to think that we are defensively quite good. We had a clean sheet in the first game [against Wigan].
"Reading did well. They scored but on the other hand we have scored six goals in two games.
"We have to try and be solid and that's how we can win more games. We certainly will look at that.
"I felt there was some good football and a lot of rotation between our players. We attacked in numbers, created several chances and the players were really enjoying themselves."
