Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is close to landing Olympique Marseille fullback Cesar Azpilicueta.
Di Matteo has made a right-back his top priority after the club released Jose Bosingwa, while Branislav Ivanovic has made it clear he wants to play centre back next season.
Chelsea are hoping to thrash out a £7million deal for Azpilicueta, 22, as owner Roman Abramovich looks to carry on spending this summer.
