Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is supporting the Premier League's decision regarding Sunday's handshakes with QPR. Premier League rules require both teams to shake hands as part of the pre-match routine for all top-flight fixtures.
But the situation is complicated on Sunday when Chelsea host QPR at Stamford Bridge, as Blues skipper John Terry is facing court proceedings over an allegation of racial abuse towards Anton Ferdinand which he denies.
"I think they have used a bit of common sense there so that's a good decision.
"To show respect to your opposition is a good thing, so I'm not generally against it."
Asked if he would remind his players of their responsibilities after the controversies of the October fixture in which Chelsea also had two men sent off, Di Matteo said: "I always speak to my players.
"They will be focused on Sunday to try to win the game. The rest is for other people to worry about.
"We have to channel our energies to win the football match - that's all." "The game is the most important aspect on Sunday afternoon," said Di Matteo over the decision to suspend the handshaking ritual for this game.
