Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo admits he wasn't involved in their deal for Werder Bremen winger Marko Marin.

The Germany international's signing was confirmed on the eve of yesterday's derby win over QPR.

"I tend to give my recommendation but, ultimately, the club decides who they want to sign," Di Matteo said.

"He's a very good player, technically very good, skilful. He will add some qualities to this team."
