Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo admits having a say on John Terry retaining the club captaincy.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck and chief executive Ron Gourlay have confirmed Terry will keep the captaincy and not suffer any further punishment after being hit with a club record fine.
Di Matteo said: "I had an input and a conversation with them, but the board made the decision and I respect that.
"I would have respected any decision they made."
