Chelsea boss Antonio Conte can't guarantee Diego Costa will sign a new contract.
Costa opened the scoring against Hull before Gary Cahill wrapped up a 2-0 win with 10 minutes to go.
Conte stated: "Diego has two years of contract, before his contract expires with Chelsea. For us, now, it's very important for us to concentrate on the present and not try and see too far into the future. That will risk not seeing the present.
"Would it be a statement that he is here for the long-term if he signs a new contract? Yeah, why not? Why not?
"This decision is something you have to take together with the club. But, I repeat, I don't see any problem with Diego and his contract."
