Chelsea boss Conte to rush Giroud introduction

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte intends to rush Olivier Giroud into his line-up for their clash with Watford.

First-choice striker Alvaro Morata is crocked with a back injury and insiders say it is "not improving", says the Daily Express.

Giroud signed for Chelsea in an £18 million deal from Arsenal and Conte had hoped to settle him into the squad slowly.

But it now looks as if the Frenchman will be thrown straight into a tough away trip at Watford as cover.

Striker Michy Batshuayi has been allowed to leave on loan to join Germans Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season and that means Giroud can expect a call up less than a week after signing.
