Chelsea boss Antonio Conte refused to speak to reporters before Sunday's defeat to Tottenham.
Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves revealed the news live before kickoff.
Shreeves claims Conte was not prepared to give an honest answer to his proposed questions as it would cause problems for the club.
“Following on from the quotes you've just heard from across the season, the situation with the interview on Thursday just added more uncertainty and discord to the situation regarding Antonio Conte and his position," Shreeves said.
“As normal we would sit down with him, we always submit our questions in advance, not for editorial reasons but because his English is still far from perfect.
"A word came back to us that the questions, that were fairly standard to be honest with you looking forward to the Tottenham game and thoughts on that, the season, how he would sum up the season, positives and negatives, word came back to us that he couldn't answer those questions because he felt if he was truly honest, he would cause problems for the club, so therefore it's better that he didn't speak about it, particularly on the eve of such a big game.
“He feels at the moment he cannot answer those questions directly.
“He seems quite happy to say one or two things in a press conference but in terms of an open and honest explanation as regards to his position, he didn't want to entertain it."
