Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was happy for Eden Hazard to play for Belgium this week.

Conte says he gave Belgium manager Roberto Martinez permission to field Eden Hazard during the international break.

Hazard has not played for Chelsea yet this season due to an ankle problem.

But he did play just over an hour of Belgium over their two World Cup qualifiers earlier this month.

“I spoke with Roberto and we tried the right way to improve his fitness," Conte said.

“I was very happy for him to play against Gibraltar and 30 minutes against Greece. I totally agreed with him."
