Chelsea boss Antonio Conte won't field John Terry in Saturday's FA Cup semi with Tottenham.
Terry was hoping to start against Tottenham in today's big FA Cup semi final because Gary Cahill has been ruled out with gastroenteritis.
But it will be Nathan Ake and not Terry who plays instead, despite the 22-year-old starting just twice since being recalled from his loan at Bournemouth.
Conte said: “For Cahill, it's impossible. But Ake deserves to have this chance to play because he is showing me great commitment.
“He worked very hard, his behaviour was great, fantastic, and he never complained.
“Don't forget Ake was playing every game with Bournemouth and wanted to come and stay with us to help us fight for the title.
“I think he's ready and he deserves this opportunity and I trust him. I have no problem with this decision."
