Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has declared Andreas Christensen is the club's "present and future".

Conte made the comments after being asked about David Luiz's situation.

A knee injury has kept him out of the last seven games but it is believed even when Luiz is fit, Conte will favour 21-year-old Danish defender Christensen.

After dropping Luiz for the United game, the manager said: “He has to work really hard otherwise he is on the bench or in the stands."

And asked about Luiz's future, Conte added: “I don't know. Andreas Christensen is the present and the future for Chelsea."
