Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez says Pep Guardiola will be a success wherever he goes.

The former Barcelona chief, 41, who won three La Liga titles and two European Cups in a four-year spell at the Nou Camp, is Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's first choice.

Manchester City, who will make a decision on Roberto Mancini's future at the end of the season, are also monitoring Guardiola's status.

Benitez said: "Pep is a great manager and, for me, it's not just about his victories but the way they were won at Barcelona.

"If he comes back it will be good for football and he will do well."
