Chelsea interim manager Rafa Benitez has denied reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid, reports London 24. In an interview with Radio Nacional de España, the Spaniard was quoted as saying that the Madrid giants were his "sweetheart" and "were always his first love".
"In Spain, translation always changes something so I never said 'sweetheart'," Benitez said ahead of the Blues' Europa League second-leg match against Sparta Prague.
To clarify the situation the 52-year-old referred journalists to his personal website to get, what he believes is an accurate translation of the Spanish radio interview.
"I have a lot of respect for Real Madrid because they have a manager in place, but I have a job to do at Chelsea and a contract here.
"My job now is to do my best for Chelsea so it is very clear."
