Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to make a bid for Porto star Hulk. The Daily Star says the Blues boss is sweating on a deal for Bolton's Gary Cahill, which has stalled over personal terms.

But he is being linked with a move for Porto's Brazil striker Hulk - real name Givanildo Vieira de Souza.

"Apart from a central defender, we might get one more player in but we are not sure yet," said the ­Portuguese coach.

"Top talent is normally cup-tied in the Champions League or domestic competitions, but it is difficult for the selling club to make players available.

"Normally it is a market where you overpay a lot and we don't want to do that."
