Chelsea boss AVB sorry to lose Cole for Man Utd clash

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was disappointed with Ashley Cole's red for their draw at Swansea City.

Cole will miss Sunday's clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge after seeing red late in the game with a tackle attributed as much to frustration as anything else.

His battle with the impressive Nathan Dyer had been an intriguing one, but Villas-Boas believes the tricky winger's pace and agility ultimately made the referee's decision an easy one.

"The first yellow card was fair, the second was difficult to assess because of the speed that it happened," AVB told chelseafc.com.

"Ashley thought he'd get the ball and he made a bet, I'm not sure if there was enough contact because Dyer got up very quickly.

"Ashley's talent is immense, but in the end Dyer protects the ball well and he's a very skilful and technical player."
