Chelsea boss AVB prepared to drop star trio to be ready for Man Utd clash

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to take a Champions League selection gamble for their clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Sun says Frank Lampard is facing the Chelsea axe tonight.

And fellow 30-somethings John Terry and Nicolas Anelka are also likely to miss the Champions League opener at home to Bayer Leverkusen.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas plans to rest his experienced stars ahead of Sunday's big Premier League clash at leaders Manchester United.

Villas-Boas is preparing to gamble with his Euro line-up despite the absence of Didier Drogba and Ramires tonight.

He said: "You will see some changes to the team against Leverkusen and we will make some wise decisions for Sunday."
