Chelsea boss AVB hits back at Man Utd coach Meulensteen over age taunts

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has dismissed taunts from Manchester United that his squad is too old.

The two unbeaten sides meet tomorrow with Villas-Boas unhappy at remarks by United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen.

Dutchman Meulensteen said: "Their squad is too old and their tempo is not high enough to win the Premier League.

"Also, Chelsea have made just one major signing in Juan Mata."

Villas-Boas, who makes his first trip to Old Trafford as Chelsea boss tomorrow, hit back: "I find it strange he would say something like this when we have all seen the importance of players like Ryan Giggs, Edwin van der Sar and Paul Scholes to Manchester United.

"Only this week Giggs was scoring in the Champions League and being praised by everyone.

"What's the difference between that and some of the players we have?"
