Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas doesn't want to lose Didier Drogba to Shanghai Shenhua.

The Telegraph says Villas-Boas has been hopeful of Drogba, who is currently on African Nations Cup duty with Ivory Coast, seeing out the remainder of his contract.

He is currently free to open negotiations with rival clubs over a summer move but, should an offer for him be made before the transfer window closes, the Blues must decide whether to cash in.

Villas-Boas said: "It's not something that has crossed my mind. I count on Didier, on what he represents as a player and an icon, and I will rely upon him still [when he returns from the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next month]."
