Chelsea boss Ancelotti warned by FA

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was today warned by the Football Association over future conduct.

The Italian broke FA rules when he spoke about referee Howard Webb prior to the clash with Manchester United on May 8.

A letter sent to all clubs in October stated that a match official must not be commented on before a match as it is seen as an attempt to influence and the FA were keen to crack down on pre-match press conferences.

Ancelotti, along with Man Utd counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson, did speak out about Webb prior to the Old Trafford fixture and both men have been warned about doing a similar thing in the future.

A statement from the FA read: "The FA has today warned Carlo Ancelotti as to his future conduct.

"The Chelsea manager's warning relates to his pre-match media comments prior to the Premier League match with Manchester United on 8 May."
