Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is battling to convince club owner Roman Abramovich to splash out on Real Madrid star Kaka.

Ancelotti has cleared the decks to make room for a new playmaker after releasing Joe Cole and also preparing to lose Deco.

Chelsea were linked with AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato yesterday and when asked about the development, Italian super agent Enzo Bronzetti said: "Ancelotti wants Kaka. Abramovich, however, does not seem very convinced."

Bronzetti has close ties to Real Madrid.
