Chelsea boss Ancelotti wanted Torres, De Rossi in summer overhaul
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Sun, 11/21/2010 - 10:07
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti wanted to spend big last summer, it has been revealed.
The Mail on Sunday says Ancelotti is considering his long-term future at Chelsea because of cutbacks being made as the club attempts to meet their goal of breaking even and staying on the right side of Europe's financial strictures.
Ancelotti's personal preference last June is said to have been to bid for Fernando Torres up front and one of Daniele de Rossi, Bastian Schweinsteiger or Mesut Ozil in midfield.
But once inquiries were made it was clear none of those players fit with the goal of ensuring Chelsea meet UEFA's new rules by 2012.

I'm not commenting on Ancelotti other than to say he needs to stop being rigid to his system and should adapt to suit what he has available to him like he eventually did last season. But now to the real problem Chelsea's money men last season Mr Gourley told us we were now out of debt and that money OWED to Abramovich (so much for benefactor) were repaid in shares. Mr Abramovich is about to spend 400 million on a business folly on an island near St Petersberg he thinks nothing of spending a fortune on paintings for his latest squeezes gallery or yaucht after yaucht just so he can say he has the biggest one. He spent a fortune on building an academy and here we are waiting for Kakuta and Borini looking to follow Sinclair and Stcch through the exit door admittedly at a profit so is it to create players or a profit? I understand the new UEFA rules but that does not seem to of slowed down Real Madrid, Barca, Ac Milan or Inter not to mention Man city so what are they doing to meet these rules? Mr Abramovich the squad needs rebuilding the main players are still quality but just watch the glory hunters desert the ''BRAND'' if we stop winning. Just watch the decline with your spy next to any manager. Grant had Steve Clarke who was the real force behind that season Clarke was ousted when he felt he had no involvement so left to join Zola so what happened Scolari flunked his lines. We may now see the same thing with the former Notts county superstar nobody remembers. Carlo your not perfect but others are a bigger problem Abramovich its not a toy any business needs inestment and re-inventing. The new rules will not prevent buying players especially as you keep telling us we are NOT in debt.

Carlo still rocked by Ray's exit, same goes to the players. Mr. Abramovich is so unpredictable. As to ridiculous "Faisal Bokamar", what on earth are you? For Chelsea, we still topping the league. We conceded less than the top6 of the table. That's show how we going to win the league without doubt. If Carlo does want to buy players, try more cheaper but valuable one, like Jarvis (Wolves), Hoylet (Rovers), Roger Johnson (B.City), Krancjar (Spurs) etc. Players like them are suits to English Football & Europe too. I just do not know why Carlo still not spend any penny to replace such Ballack, Belleti, Carvalho, Deco & co.
