Chelsea boss Ancelotti not bothered by Cup exit

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has shrugged off their Carling Cup exit.

Chelsea crashed out of the Carling Cup in midweek 4-3 to Newcastle but Ancelotti does not believe it was a wake-up call for his side.

The team was filled with young talent and Ancelotti re-iterated that the competition was always going to be one for the kids.

"The Carling Cup was a different competition, we wanted to use it for the young players," he said. "This is a different story. The Premier League is our priority along with the Champions League. I think we will have a fresh team.

"I have a lot of confidence in my players for the game at City."
