Chelsea boss Ancelotti: Man Utd better without Ronaldo

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is looking forward to his tactical battle with Manchester United rival Sir Alex Ferguson today. Ancelotti has enjoyed a good record against Ferguson in the past.

"This season I think United are playing differently in respect to the past," Ancelotti said. "Last season they had Ronaldo as a striker and they played differently. They have improved a lot and Wayne Rooney has done a fantastic job with the wingers.

"A lot of matches for United were tactically very good. Against [AC] Milan [in the Champions League], tactically they played very well. And they don't give a lot of chances to concede. They are very compact as a team and prefer to defend well and counter. They're able to do this because their wingers are very fast.

"United have maintained their identity. In very important games this season they used only one striker, Rooney. That was enough, because he's scored 34 goals, but they used the wingers to control the right side and counter. With Nani, [Antonio] Valencia and [Ryan] Giggs, they have players with speed and technical quality."
