Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti insists Florent Malouda did not deserve to be sent-off for his clash with Portsmouth defender Ricardo Rocha.
Malouda escaped a red card for his high challenge on Rocha in the 5-0 win.
Ancelotti said: "I was very close and I though what I saw was a collision with two heads. Rocha was unlucky and we are disappointed because it is an injury for this player, but Malouda didn't mean to hurt him. It was an accident.
"The referee showed a yellow card, that was right. It was not a red card."
