Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti insists he's not bothered losing out to Tottenham in the race for Steven Pienaar.
The former Everton midfielder chose Spurs ahead of Chelsea after speaking with both clubs.
Privately, Chelsea were annoyed at the South Africa midfielder and his representatives for making the finalising of contract details a priority over meeting their manager, say the Daily Mail.
Ancelotti offered to meet Pienaar several times even though he had not earmarked the player as one he wanted.
Ancelotti said: "I didn't seek for Steven Pienaar to come here. We don't need a midfielder because we have fantastic midfielders already. You have to ask him why he chose to go to Tottenham. I've never met him."
