Chelsea boss Ancelotti huge fan of African football

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti admits he fancies taking charge of an African nation in the future.

Ancelotti can see the international game eventually being dominated by African teams.

He said: "I am intrigued by the idea of coaching a national side, not necessarily an African one. I expect the Africans to be the surprise package of the tournament, not just because they are hosting it for the first time.

"Other than South Africa there are Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, the Ivory Coast and the winners of the Egypt-Algeria play-off. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these sides finished in the top four.

"They have superior athletic skills and now almost all the African internationals play in Europe, so no longer have that lack of experience or tactical teaching. They also have great attachment and pride in playing for their country."
