Chelsea have sacrificed almost £70 MILLION to dump kit partners adidas, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea spent £67m to rip up their kit deal with adidas to enable them to sign a contract with Nike.

Chelsea didn't publicise these facts when announcing their 2015-16 financial results last Autumn but the details are revealed in documents just filed with Companies House.

Chelsea's need for their new 60,000 capacity stadium was also underlined on Friday with the release of last year's financial results which shows that the cash they can make at Stamford Bridge now accounts for just 21 per cent of their overall revenue.
